1978 Ibanez Iceman
This product is currently sold out.
Ibanez Iceman - hand made in Japan May 1978, mahogany
overall this vintage guitar has a nice gloss to it, it looks great. from across a small room it would essentially look like a brand new guitar. due to very tough finish coating it does not have a beat up or necessarily vintage look to it. binding has aged to a nice cream.
overall cosmetically this Iceman has experienced very normal wear & tear, no major issues. 2 additional holes from moved strap locks (for stage use). has light buckle rash, but not severe.
original nut, original frets, original tuners & pickups. has scratch by pickup selector. has very small crack by input jack, could be finish crack. input jack is very solid. everything on the guitar is solid and functions well. no neck repairs or breaks. has normal dings, scratches and wear that any 40 year old played guitar would. no ugly blemishes or flaws.
Includes original case with spray-painted RKL / CROSSTOPS stencil.
Guitar was used on RKL Riches to Rags tour, and with SF based CROSSTOPS, guitar by owned by Barry Ward, and purchased directly from him.
Incredible history, this guitar has seen a lot
Has that classic 70's "epic player" vibe, very buttery and smooth, especially in the lead guitar department.
This is the twin brother of the Ibanez destroyer, also neck-through, which was famously used on the first Van Halen record. The Iceman produces a very true and noticeable feeling of solidity - in other words the neck and body feel like a single piece of wood. As with all hand made 1970's Japanese guitars, there's a chance you'll get one which is better sounding than a USA built Les Paul. This one is great, it has the low action you desire and plays like butter. Has the feeling of solidity between the neck & body. An incredibly powerful lead guitar.
This is the real deal, a very special piece with the vibe 90's punk history from of the the most talented and influential punk bands of all time.
