2010 Brian Michael EB-P- MIKE WATT Red Flame Bass Iggy & The Stooges
This product is currently sold out.
it was an honor and privilege to own it. i have recorded this bass and enjoyed it immensely. the stooges music to me is sacred and holy. the gigs of this era were musical insanity, beyond belief.
this Brian Michael neck-through bass was hand-made in San Francisco and commissioned by James Williamson during the early days of his return to the Stooges. Mike Watt used this bass for nearly every show over the next 4-5 years. bass was commissioned to achieve better tone & intonation. the bass is a massive part of the stooges live sound and watt's live sound, as usual, left a real impact on me from these gigs. this is a massive sounding instrument with a lollar pickup.
fat flame maple neck. short scale. thin nitro finish.
no tone or volume controls, watt had them removed. watt boat anchor inlay. tapered neck. 3 piece body. neck through maple with swamp ash sides.
the watt/stooges strings are still installed. the watt bass has been sweated on heavily and is a road beast. comes in a yellow high end carlton road case.
sales includes everything 100% original as it came from the stooges, as well as a note from the builder, a note from watt, and a note from james williamson. never changed the strings or cleaned the guitar. never adjusted or removed the strap. so the guitar smells like watt stank. smells like a real guitar.
this is a museum piece. will add photos shortly. road case makes the guitar impossible to break during shipping. shipping package will be big & heavy. case is heavy.
will ship fedex 2-day with insurance.
